Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Workshop at ExA

Last month we had a fantastic workshop session with Dumi from Right Track Learning

What an inspiring, engaging, and holistic session we had with both our Manchester and London teams sharing their individual stories and experiences about what ED&I means to them.

A huge thank-you to Dumi. Here’s what he had to say about our session.

“ As a qualified coach and senior ED&I specialist with extensive experience of working with organisations across several sectors and continents, I have first-hand experience of how daunting learning about ED&I can be for people in the early stages of their journey.

However, when delivering the session for Exterior Architecture, I was pleasantly surprised by how everyone embraced the challenge by readily recognising their own gaps in knowledge which takes a lot of courage.

During the session, the Manchester team was connected to the London team (where I delivered the session face to face) remotely, but it felt like everyone was under the same roof just from the spirit of being 'in-it-together' that colored the day.

I hesitate to say this, but it truly felt like a party sometimes (not how you would normally describe a training session), and that is all credit to every member of the team who shared their lived experiences and vision for the future with enormous grace.

Whilst Exterior Architecture may be at the early stages of their ED&I journey, I have no doubt that they will go from strength to strength as a team, particularly as they have a lot of strengths they can build on such as their exemplary diversity.

I joked that being in their offices felt like being at the UN. I am excited to see what they can achieve on aspects of equity and inclusion, as the next steps, to make their organisation a leader on workplace ED&I.”
