ROLE              Landscape Architects
CLIENT           Redrow Homes
ARCHITECT    ID & Planning Ltd. (IDP)

VISION The Landscape vision for the site is to create an attractive, vibrant and sensitive residential development which celebrates the ‘fenland fringe’ character and where people can enjoy living, working, playing and visiting. The public realm has a distinct local character, and includes a ‘Village Green’ space that can be flexibly programmed and contribute to community creation; spaces that activates social interaction by providing opportunities for recreation and leisure, as well as doorstep and informal play space.

CONCEPT of the RMA site is to weave together structural layers of landscape, green and blue infrastructure to create a robust environment for the new community to establish. Working from the natural topography, hydrology and landscape history the site, structural landscape layers and interventions are knitted together.

THE WIDER PHASE 1 AREA The RMA site boundary sits within the Green Streets Character Area, but also adjoins other areas of the wider masterplan. The proposed Country Park lies to the east of Highflyer Avenue and therefore the proposals for the RMA will tie in with aspirations for the Country Park.
