PROPOSAL Broughton House is an existing residential care facility for British forces veterans and their families. Exterior Architecture have designed the landscape for the proposed redevelopment of the site which will enlarge and modernise the home. The proposals include a new pedestrian entrance and commemorative wall as well as a communal courtyard garden for residents. Within the courtyard elements such as the bandstand and bowling green will engender a community spirit. Sensory planting beds and a babbling brook as well as the gently curving layout has been developed to be sympathetic to those residents with dementia. A number of large  specimen trees are proposed on the periphery of the site which already boasts a significant mature tree resource.
