NINE ELMS OPPORTUNITY AREA The Booker and BMW site sits opposite Battersea Power Station in south west London, and represents the one of the last pieces of land to be redeveloped in the Nine Elms Opportunity Area.
THE PROPOSAL The development compromises three residential towers with large commercial units at ground floor level. Our role was to design an integrated public realm landscape that catered for new residents, new workers as well as existing communities.
LINEAR FORMS Taking inspiration from surrounding linear forms, we designed a contemporary public realm space, providing raised lawns, doorstep play space, a calm bosque of trees and an integrated stage and seating space around a large existing London Plane tree. High quality materials and modern landscape elements will create an important public space in this developing part of London.
