HISTORICALLY SENSITIVE RESIDENTIAL DESIGN

This project captured the character and flavour of the site’s history as a working dockyard to create a collection of public and private spaces, which accommodate residents’ needs. Central to the design was a tree strategy that used trees as navigational and orientation aid by mixing species over the sit. This was in keeping the Russia Dock Woodland, a nearby, well-loved urban green way.  EA worked closely with the client, Fairview New Homes, as well as a multidisciplinary team to deliver 150 new homes with a variety of usable spaces. The commission included the consideration of the old Fisher Athletic Football Ground and involved extensive consultation.
