This commission was to develop high end landscape proposals for a 12 storey residential development with commercial ground floor units. The design created a contemporary approach to the site making clean, sharp geometric forms that related strongly to the architectural forms. The concepts for the water features and lighting within the project which were progressed under the practices guidance by specialist consultants. The provision of a social space for residents on the roof to a tight budget required the careful use of materials and planting while focusing the value on a seating and deck area. Scope involved arranging the commissioning of Neil Dawson to produce floating stainless steel ‘droplets’ and worked with the artist and lighting designer to create a truly memorable night lighting effect. The project included a collaborative approach with the architects K4 to integrate internal and external treatments to allow the building to be interconnected with the landscape elements of the site.
