The design for a sustainable landscape strategy for Hillerød hinged on the creation of a healthy city centred on transport nodes and a community living within a productive landscape. A ‘Konstellation Web’ overlaid on the site forms a network of green connectors which links the spaces and places of the site into everyone’s everyday lives. The masterplan was produced with AR Urbanism and John Pardy Architects. Culturing trees was essential to the scheme, with new forests, riparian river corridors and habitat creation for bird and bat populations. Landscape is presented as the fabric which binds people together, and in this plan is provided in multiple forms to offer a liveable, healthy and productive neighbourhood.
